Edge of the Coin

Heads or Tails a coin toss to change our indecision. Next to impossible is the feat of getting the coin to stand on its edge without support. Coin spinning more for amusement no real practical use that I can think of.

Consider this: A coin has 3 sides is it a chance recreation of our 3 dimensional universe?  Why do we seem to focus on only Heads or Tails why I wonder? Perhaps its similar to the Past and Future we all seem to worry and fret about; yet we leave out a facet the present is it because it's fleeting gone in a nanosecond.

My voting ballot arrived today I will not be using a coin toss to decide whom I shall vote for: I am inclined to vote in a change not because of my political party affiliation but for a chance to see a 3rd option take up offering sweeping changes that put us all at a cross road and until now has not present itself to us. I believe the edge of the coin will have a great impact on us all.

So I borrow lyrics to make a final statement about our choice to make a change.

You can't change the world
But you can change the facts
And when you change the facts
You can change points of view
If you change points of view
You might change a vote
And when you change a vote
You may change the world

Starting Over

I tried blogging in 2002 however it did not become a habit and I lost interest, so here I am having to start over. I have had to copy my old posts into Word and will decide what if any posts I will incorporate here.

I have chosen to go with the title Mystic's Dream-- borrowing from both music Loreena McKennitt and film The Dark Crystal.

Below is my old blog while the date sort threads have come undone its a formatting error. The blog does server its purpose and it does contain another story I was working on and had lost that makes it all the worth while to have it posted again!

I found a portion of an archived copy of my original attempt to BLOG -- Nathan aka Na_Kibler prompted me to attempt blogging -- ( I gave him that nickname all those years ago although I don't recall if he ever knew that.) I decided to re-input this portion into this blog even though it throws off the time lines. It's a fragmented view because I had two separate blog a personal view and a more public Blog.

I am glad I was able to find this archive because it contained another story I was working on and accidently deleted my working copy -- I had not decided on a title for this story!

I have not posted for over a year yet another interest that I have done with gusto for a while only to set it aside..

Well I have a new purpose to post. I am going to write a story, yes ME write a story its there waiting to be put down I shall invite you all to review my work it is froth with misspelling and grammatical errors but I suppose if its good someone else can do the editing.... ha big dreams.

Enjoy my story as it unfolds. This is NOT copyrighted as of yet when and how one secures writing to such is something one of you will have to tell me about.

Preface:

Iris sighed as she finished reading the latest book about the boy wizard, she waited three years to read the continuing adventures of his magical schooling. Why were so many stories about boys having such adventures she thought? Iris pondered about other stories she enjoyed reading. The tales were many. She fondly thought about far away land that required a boy to give its child like ruler an a new name in order that all would be as it once was and where the dreams and wishes of children seemed to intertwine with that fantastic place. Where the reader a boy read the story, which in the end included him as being part of the story itself.

Then there was the boy who had a knife that allowed him to travel between similar distance lands that seemed to be a mixture of science and magic. Sure there were other stories which included two boys and two girls visiting a magical land where animals talked like you and I. But this seemed the exception to the boy hood hero stories she read about. The boys in all these stories seemed to have a common theme they were outsiders or odd. Stories that had girls were rather common. The girl and her prized horse! The girl detective stories. It seemed as if all the girl stories were none as exciting as the stories that had boys as its main characters. Iris almost forgot about the girl who went over the rainbow. But magical stories that involved girls seem few and far between. Or so she thought!

Chapter One: Sky-Fire

Iris was an ordinary girl for her age. Being eleven and on summer holiday how was she was going to pass the time since she finishing reading about Harry in record time? Brent her father worked for a software company, on the other side of the lake from their home in Ballard. Carole her mother worked as a nurse at one of Seattle’s largest hospital Swedish. Being an only child in this family have its disadvantaged and since the Conwell family consisted of a few distance relatives in Montana whom none had any children her age only added to her isolation. Iris Conwell was bored, how was she going to endure another two months of not being in school. Sandra who was charged with being her nanny tried to think of interesting things for the two of them to do together, but how much fun did going to the library or the Seattle Center amount to. Yes she was looking forward to the up coming 4th of July holiday. Both her mom and dad had promised that they would take the holiday off and use the family boat to watch the firework from Lake Union. “Iris are you ready yet” called Sandra from the living room. “I told Keith and Wendy we would pick them up at Ten O’clock”. Going to the amusement park, how could it compare to the adventures her boy hero’s had? The “Enchanted Village” seemed to be rather dull destination. Iris dreaded the thought Keith and Wendy going along. The young couple could hardly keep themselves from talking about their latest trip to Victoria. How many times would they talk about taking the clipper to the island? Iris endured the details about how interesting it was to finally travel out of the country without their parents while the group of them sat near the international fountain in the Seattle Center trying to escape the heat of the summer only yesterday. “I’m almost ready,” shouted Iris as she picked up her backpack. She was almost downstairs when she realized she left her iPod in its charger in her room. She raced back up stairs to get the Mp3 player. She only hoped that her father had not downloaded different songs she like oldies from her father’s music collection, listening to Erasure, Depeche Mode or even Alphaville would be better the listening to Keith and Wendy recount their trip again. She rushed downstairs to find Sandra half way up the second flight of stairs. Evidently she was getting impatient with Iris who now was out of breath as she said “Sorry I almost forgot my iPod, I want to be able to listen to it while we go to Enchanted Village” “Ok” Sandra said as she turned around and headed back downstairs. “I just want to get an early start out. Traffic is likely to be a nightmare since KIRO said it was going to be in the mid eighties again today”

Iris grabbed the Seattle Times off the hallways bench she had not yet read her horoscope this morning she had been absorbed with finishing up the Harry Potter book. Iris buckled in the passengers side of the Conwell’s SUV. When they arrived in Magnolia Wendy and Keith were waiting for them sitting on the porch of Keith’s parents. It was then that Iris decided that she would sit in the back. Where she had more options to either stare out the window while listening to her iPod or she could watch Lilo and Stitch on the portable DVD player she had gotten for her birthday in early March. At least it was a cartoon about a girl who was managing to have an adventure. The trip to Enchanted Village was fret with traffic diversions and delays as the 1st Avenue Bridge went up as Sandra. While they waited for the bridge to go down Wendy asked, “Iris is it true you and your family are going to watch the 4th of July fire works from Lake Union?” No sure why Wendy cared Iris replied, “Yea, both mom and dad say they are taking the day off, why?” “Sandra said that she is going out of town that weekend and that she thought that since she would not be joining your family that perhaps your mom and dad would let me and Keith come along.” Replied Wendy. “Its not my boat, answered Iris you could ask my dad I don’t know if he is inviting anyone or not.” Iris dreaded the thought of spending time with two lovebirds and her parents on a boat. Now would be a good time to plug into her iPod and ignore more questions from Wendy. She selected random play and put her headphones on to hear Bizarre Love Triangle by New Order emit to her listening pleasure. The trip to the amusement took another half hour and as usual Iris found herself being ushered around by Sandra and the lovebirds not far behind. Iris tried to look as though she was enjoying herself but in spite of Sandra’s attempts to entertain her. She could not help but loathe the fact the Keith and Wendy seemed to inseparable, the hand holding and snickering notwithstanding the kissing that the two of them were constantly engaging seemed to annoy Iris. Iris was thrilled when Sandra suggested that Keith and Wendy could go and do their own thing for two and half hours after which they should call her on the cell phone and make arrangements to meet so they could go home. Iris being eleven wanted so much to go on about being a kid with out Wendy and Keith showing so much public displays of affection for each other. Needless to say that the afternoon went by fast and soon Iris found herself listening to her iPod listening to the Human League sing “Only Human” while they traveled home. Iris then suddenly remember she had yet to read her horoscope she found the Times and located the horoscope page and read the following:

PISCES: (Feb. 19-March 20) Good week to investigate options that are outside your personal comfort zone. There are stellar opportunities for you connected with the academic world, travel, foreign lands. Exciting new career/financial developments in store. Monday through Wednesday, a sensible approach to advancement moves you steadily toward material success. Your lucky numbers are 2, 8, 15, 30 and 49.

Cryptic as always Iris wished she could locate a horoscope written for young adults. When she got home maybe she’d search Google. The trip home was uneventful and she was only too glad when Sandra dropped off the lovebirds at last. Sandra pulled into the Conwell’s driveway only to find that neither Carole nor Brent were home yet. It was then that Iris asked “can we order pizza from Romeo’s.” “Sure said Sandra what would you like?” “Anything replied Iris as long as it has pepperoni on it.” As dusk approached and Iris was eating the recent delivered pizza on the terrace when she noticed a shooting star. Remembering something about the horoscope mentioning something about stellar and travel Iris closed her eyes and wish “I want to be involved in a fantastic adventure to a distance far away land”! She was not sure that one could wish upon a shooting star or was that limited to the first star on saw any given night? As if some thing or someone had heard Iris suddenly there was a loud bang. As she opened her eyes she thought she saw the golden sparkling glow with a brilliant purple hue if only for a moment as the shooting star seemed to have exploded somewhere above Discovery Park. Iris would have thought that someone had set off a pre-holiday firework if it were not for the sweet smell of something that she could not describe as perfume and the fact in the distance there seemed to a purplish glow across the night sky arching toward the distant park. Iris called to Sandra “Come look at this.” “What” questioned Sandra as she came out the patio doors? “Look at that purple arc in the sky and that strange glow above Discovery Park” replied Iris. To which Sandra said “really Iris you do have quite the imagination I don’t seem anything” “What about the sweet smell or the loud bang surly heard that.” Iris said. “Iris the only thing I smell is someone blowing off fireworks and as for a purple arc its all just fireworks.” Sandra turned towards the kitchen and hurrying as she could hear the phone ringing. Iris shrugged and thought well I it was my wish not hers. Maybe she was the only one who could smell the sweet scent and see the arc in the sky. Little did Iris know that wishing on a shooting star during the purple hour indeed set in motion events, which would lead her upon an adventure of her own!

First there was a loud booming noise followed by a brilliant explosion of purple light, which drew the attention of Cillo away from his star charts. As the centaur adjusted his telescope his view was obstructed by a flock of the Kings doves flying by. For some strange reason the loud booming noise was so intense that the doves awoke from their roost in some strange panic as Cillo focused his telescope on the night sky. The aged centaur observed the remainder of falling star in his telescope and returned to his star charts where he made a notation in the margin with the Phoenix quill. Quickly returning his eye to the telescope focusing it and muttering under his breath as the doves obstructed his view of the night sky once again. “Strange!” was the only word he uttered as he continued to view the night sky from his quarters. Jorge burst through the door with such a clamor that the centaur frowned at the Prince who had forgotten to knock before entering his teacher’s quarters in the castles southern Hightower. “Cillo did you hear and see that falling star?” inquired the Prince who was out of breath having skipped every other stone step on his way up from a lower landing. “I did your Jorge, however I might remind you that as your teacher that bursting in onto private quarters of even your teacher without knocking is not becoming of a Prince” replied Cillo in answer to the question from his student. “Sorry!” exclaimed the Jorge who gazed at the floor in embarrassment. “Its just that you were telling me a forth night ago that it has been a long time since the sky-fire last seen in Elumgor” spoke the Prince. “It has yet to determined if this falling star is sky-fire if it is and I repeat if I am not sure that we can expect the out come to be know for a few days.” “We are far away from the circle of stones which usually cry out after the sky-fire erupts.” “Besides it has been many generations since there has been sky-fire”. “I find it unusual that the Prince remembers our ancient history while forgetting lessons in manners that is to say I am thrilled that at least some of what your father entrusted me to teach is being remembered” recanted Cillo! To which Jorge answered “I find history the waves of visitors to our land from the other side more interesting then classes in manners”. “Come lets inform his majesty, your father that perhaps its time to journey to the circle of stones” spoke Cillo as he gathered his star charts seemly ignoring the Prince’s last comment. Jorge glanced outside at the night sky, which usually was black instead seeing only purple with golden sparkles where stars should be as he suddenly found himself alone in Cillo’s quarters as. He turned to follow his teacher’s now distant clomping hooves down towards the library where his father was generally to be found before he retired to his chamber for the night.

Well well well time files... where to start have tickets for Star Wars Eps 2 taking Na_Kibler and Jesse (co-worker from VM) for opening day May 16th @ noon... Found this tid bit about an event some of my friends go to thought I would post it here...

Burning Man

Bill Strubbe

Burning Man: The Gayest Event You've Never Heard of Black Rock Desert, 120 miles north of Reno, Nevada August 26-September 2, 2002 Tickets/information: www.burningman.com; $165-250.

What on earth is Burning Man? At least in this dimension there's nothing like it. In the broadest sense Burning Man is perhaps the queerest happening on the planet. It's cutting edge, revolutionary, artsy and camp. Many of the 40,000 people who converge from far and wide to join the week-long festivities at this stark sun-baked salt flat are lesbian, gay or polysexual. Participants create a commercial-free community without money, bartering or typical societal (read prudish) boundaries and experiment with non-gender-traditional costumes and sexual roles. Only what is freely given is permitted. (It's starting to sound interesting, isn't it?)

Burning Man is about leaving civilization behind and celebrating life as an ancient tribe might have. You'll spend the days and nights communing with the inhabitants of over two thousand theme camps -- Irrational Geographic, Bianca's Smut Shack, Beaver Junction and Camp Amerikaka to name a few. Participants are encouraged to express their creativity. Imagine an ice sculpture emitting glacial music; competing laser light shows at midnight; art cars and camels; 50 nude flag dancers in the moonlight; Twinkyhenge (yes, Stonehenge à la Hostess); and fabulous costumes -- or lack of clothing altogether. Each year has a theme -- this year it's the "Seven Ages" -- played out in a giant board game to which you receive a passport.

All your needs -- food, water, toys, etc. -- must be hauled in. Though dust storms, floods and mud might challenge you, it's primarily the relentless 100+-degree scorching sun you'll contend with. You'll need to slather yourself with sun block or cloak yourself in silver Mylar and drink endless quantities of water. The culmination of Burning Man on Saturday night is heralded by a massive procession, the circle forms and the huge effigy ignites in the center of the temporal town -- an epiphany, primal and newborn. When the inhabitants disperse, all trash and art brought in must be carried out. A crew scours the desert for every cigarette butt, bottle top, staple, feather and sequin left behind. The winter rains re-flood the vast plateau, erasing all traces that 40,000 souls had ever been here -- until the same time next year.

Its my hope the Na_Kibler gets to go to this event it seems important to him...

Well the nightmares have been having a HAY night with me... my sleep pattern is way off. Not working allows me to take a nap whenever I please and I find that comforting but it usually sets my other bedtime off by a few hours.. This past week end I had a one night admit to Swedish Providence Campus for a NASTY reaction to yet another Anti-B that I am allergic to... I agree with my doctor almost every time that I should use the Anti-B's only in extreme cases I have such reactions to most of the basic ones already that the thought of taking something makes me itch.. I have not been to work since the 1st of April using up all my sick leave and dipping into vacation started last week but working during these past 3 weeks would have been impossible and impractical most of the time. I see my Primary care tomorrow and I think that returning to work 1/2 time for a week then 3/4 the week after and back to full time the week after might make the transition a little bit easier... I have been laying, sitting around for these past weeks that a small bit of fluid has developed in my lungs so guess what to prevent Walking Pneumonia I am on a Anita-B I hold out hope that this one does not cause complications... Today's weather was an improvement since according to the weather people 8 straight days of rain did proceed a 1/2 day of sunny weather, which I managed to get out and about to the grocery store where I had a short list to fill. But by the time I got to the register I had nearly a 1/2 basket full of food items total bill a bit of $80.00. I seem to crave fruit I brought some grapes, strawberries, cantaloupe, bananas.. when I got home I noticed that the grapes contained seed not my first choice but then I did not read the label close enough apparently. Afterwards I arrived home to the wind blowing the Magnolia blossoms from my back yard to the side yard the smell was sweetly intoxicating my head began to swim and as I let the dogs out to have a small romp before I attacked the bed. I had wanted to dust and vacuum the house today but I was tuckered out and took a nap.

Greg has been very edgy about money *** yea for when is he not some may ask*** he keeps bringing up my ability to pay the mortgage. I have plenty of resources and tell him that the amount of sick leave and vacation time I have is and will cover my time off I will get my regular amount in pay. I even have a hospital indemnity plan that pays me a certain amount of $$ for everyday that I am hospitalized there are some other provisions that pay more depending on what type of hospital room I am admitted to and if I am home confined afterwards I still earn a benefit. The last time I was in the hospital with a sever migraine I was paid $250 and that hospital stay was for 2 days. I have my own personal short term disability policy which would pay $1,500/month ax’s 2 years after being declared disabled, and 90 days into some sort of disability I am covered by the my employers’ Long term disability policy which pays a % of wages 70% which is NOT taxable. So can anyone tell me that I am not covering my ass from left to right; top to bottom with the assurance that money makes up our world. Oh yea and most of the credit extended to me has disability clauses built into them, none are perfect nor pay off the balances entirely ** I would have to die for that to happen and I HAVE NO PLANS as of YET !!! to engage in DEATH** In fact my doctor says that despite my allergic reaction the major concern for me should be a slightly elevated cholesterol, well BIG deal, I am in a mid range and I attempted to cut down on the Butter, Eggs etc...

Enough of the ranting I am off to pay bills and see how depressed I can become about the out flow of cash VS the amount I get to see for a 2 week period....

Well I have been busy since the start of my vacation.. Thur. March 14 was spent visiting the Doctor renewing RX's for my GERD *acid reflux or BAD BAD Heart Burn* that can cause all sort of nasty stuff to happen. So I will not go into the details regarding that. Other then if you have to have an Upper GI done ask for the Strawberry stuff *even thought it still will have a taste of charcoal*. March 15 was spent at Virginia Mason, why you ask if I am on vacation why the work stuff ?? One word IRS. Anyone care to donate can see me *that is the part when you insert a haahha or something else*. March 16 was the first day to myself I did a few things like run to the post office go shopping to put something in my fridge *it was beginning to look like Old Mother Hubbard lived here* I also decided to by more of the Whidbey Liqueur that Purple Mark go me hooked on *so to speak* I attempted to rent DVD's @ Blockbusters but they apparently did not have me in the computer and I had just rented from them in the middle of Feb, I left in utter disgust. I had wanted to view A.I. and I am sure that I could have found something else but no due to some human error I could not. If fate did not want me to rent from there why could s/he just tell me. I had to settle for an hour of Doctor Who on PSB and then the rest of the night's TV viewing SUCKED!! Sunday March 17 was St. Patrick's day of course and it being Sunday I attended Brunch @ Charlie's, I arrived with a cookbook in hand that I had recently purchased off of EBAY "The Doctor Who Cook Book" It contained some Bio's on the people who were involved with the production of and the actual actors themselves submitting their favorite recopies for all to have. I can not say if I will use it to make stuff for a party or anything more of book to look at and get my point across that I consider myself a dedicated fan to the BBC productions of this now off the air show :-( I was sitting at the table reading my cook book waiting for the group to arrive.. First was Purple Mark who decided to use the holiday for a change in outfit color. Which can best be described as Amazon Parrot GREEN. During the course of our time there I admired his broach, which had this interesting color change ability. Mark said it was from Italy but the art of the craft was lost to time. Next to arrive was Carolyn who's garb was Black in color. I heard a echo from the past something her mother used to bring up to her... about BLACK being the ONLY color she yet again chosen to wear. Nathan arrived next even before Carolyn managed to take off her coat and informed us he'd return shortly...guess he had to visit the ATM. Nancy was the last to arrive wearing a greenish blue sweater. The next 2 and half hours passed as we ate and talked about Mark's up coming trip to Europe. Books always a topic of conversation came up as Carolyn did get the latest Babble book for Nancy to read, its was met with a less then warm review. A topic of "Being Bad" came up I think as a result of some rater imaginative and @ time graphic in nature to the non-Brunch who might have consider them art of the kind that Sen. Jesse Helms would have had a coughing fit about. If the opportunity had presented itself I am sure that no one would know how to give medical assistance and how odd the phone lines all seem to be disconnected no help from 911. As per usual if it relates to photographs Mark can bring some interesting things to light. The food bill was $52.00 and some odd change and we all managed to leave a 13 or so dollar tip. The group disband frankly I did not hear Carolyn’s nor Nancy's next stop Mark and Nathan were on their way to see Alex. Leaving me to go in search of some books I had in mind of purchasing. I first went to Horizon used books that next forty-five minutes did not turn up anything I purchased. I then went to the University Village in search of ??? Nothing found in the Dr. Who section that I purchased but I did get an idea of what I could use my Amazon gift certificate that my friend Wendy Adams gave to me. A script book containing I think 2 seasons of the Dr. as played by Tom Baker. I have found that since about the time of HARRY POTTER I have found very few books outside of the Dr. of which hold my interest. So I have found refuge in the minds of the character from some well noted children's author'sPhilip Pullman while the 1st book I can recommend for children the others are truly in the category of young adult as they do get a bit dark talking about killing of people. At Barns and Noble I purchased the following two books. Time Stops forNo Mouse by Michael Hoeye. The link provided gives you a brief on the book as well as some info on the author and addition pages to explore. Second I picked upMidnight Magic by Avi. Someone who I will have to do some more investigating on to see what was written. On to Monday March 18th it was time to fit in a haircut *my last appointment was Dec.7*. I get my cut at the Barbershop atop of Queen Anne right at the counter balance. To my dismay upon arriving the owner had closed shortly before my arrival to run get lunch and go to the bank I assume. Drat, double drat what to do for nearly an hour myself... browse another book store, this time I found A Tale of TIME CITY by Diana Wynne Jones. A book that caught my eye on Sunday. Still time to kill so I put in a special order a hard back copy of The Secret of Platform 13 by Eva Ibbotson. I still had time to kill so I went in search of a coffee shop to sit in and drink some warm soothing raspberry moca. The weather is STILL cold and rainy not at all March like weather more like early Feb. AAHHHHAHAH!!!! I found the following place EL DialbLo Coffee Co. I ordered my coffee and managed 20 pages of my most recent purchase. I chucked at the lines almost to start off with a good sign that I will be recommending this to friends.

Well I am off for a long soak in the bath tub and it’s off to bed by then I am sure it will 12:45a ..... * time delay is a posting factor sort of like save on a regular basis or what you type disappears if the web connection goes bad its now 11:35p*** night all

The day start with me being late. Nadia refused to come in from outside despite the fact that it was raining. It was rush rush rush after that. The South Park bridge was having problems closing as it opened and attempted to close three times since I tried to leave home. It was then a mad dash to the 1st Ave bridge in hopes that it was not going up as well. I looked at the clock it read 3:03pm yea I was running as I needed to start @ 3. I did have some time on my side as I set the clock a half hour ahead just for this very reason. I had my MP3 player with me and keeping my company I was listening to a recent purchase from EBAY, part of a 4 disc set of one of my favorite scifi shows Dr. Who. This is a British show that has been playing since the early 60's it plays on KBTC in my area, the show has limited airplay in the US now days as it was canceled a year or two ago but its still available as re-runs. I got hooked on this because of Carolyn *gee she seems to have hooked me on quite a few things* I am such a fan that while listening to the MP3 while driving I heard a background noise not part of the dialog that let know that there wereDALEK'S in this episode ohhhh they send shivers up my spine. As I listened to the show I did the slow crawl through the traffic towards work. It must have been the time ripple effects from the TARDIS as I arrived to work on time.

You all must be wondering how JORGE is doing, well hurricanes are strange in that not everyday is the same. Today has been mild and I have one more day until my vacation starts!

posted by Nogard at 7:34 PM

Well work is getting interesting.. we have several fronts like unto an approaching hurricane we wait in anticipation for the storm to break. There are unresolved issues stemming from eight months ago that like a volcano are starting to surface her status as a FTE after returning from a Family LOA was never corrected and she is out a bit of money. Another staff member is in the hospital quite ill expected time to return to work a month or more. Another staff member might have whooping cough tests not in YET?? This at a time when the scheduling of staff members is being handed off to another individual to make scheduling a more fair issue. I can only hope that the approaching storm cleans away the DEAD wood that is preventing the department from moving on... I started work an hour early today because of staffing issues and was allowed to leave an hour early as well YEA!!! I felt like eating afterwards and wished that there was a Perkins in Seattle so I could have some breakie but alas there is not I had thought call Nathan who is a night-owl and invite him out to eat with me we could go to I-hop. Ring ring... Nathan answers the cell and I extend the invite, which is accepted. I arrive and while leaving his apartment I decide that I-hop is not really high on my list at that very moment. I think to myself 13-Coins... We each get a cup of Tea, Nathan orders a Spanish Omelets and I order the Farmers. We talk about movies "Time Machine" "Resident Evil" and another one, which he went to see after getting a pass from Carolyn. We talked about the ghettos of St. Louis and how much slower the service at restaurants in the South. I was informed by Nathan that in on the Big Island of HI when he visited it was worse in that he and his party waited an hour for food to arrive and he knew this because he kept track but it was ok because everyone had spoken to BOB and it did not matter. We chatted about our Zodiac signs as well as our Chinese Year signs, both of us are FIRE HORSES . Nathan comment that he was STUFFED and that he had been noshing all day long when the waiter asked if desert was something he could offer and I want something I had him repeat the list twice and decided on hazelnut ice cream, which when it arrived the waiter said that they normally gave out larger servings but they were out of the hazelnut ice cream could he bring out an equal serving of some other flavor and I decided on chocolate /banana. I told Nathan that despite how full he was he'd have to help he quickly assimilate the frozen treat saying it was chocolate/bannanna/peanutbutter flavored.. well I am beat and I have two more days to weather out the hurricane JORGE so until later!!

March 10th, 2002

Since the fall of 1998 I have resided in neighborhood of Seattle called South Park *No it has nothing to do with the cartoon as far as I know* which is near Boeing Field. Its a small 1920's cottage with a sizeable yard containing a large Magnolia tree dating back to the turn of the century when that part of Seattle was farm land, several rhododendrons and of course grass. I share this space with my partner Greg and our loveable dogs Nadia and Fritz. I work full time at Swedish Medical Center as a hospital operator.

Ok today marks my 36th trip on a small planet we all call home planet EARTH. I can hardly imagine that amount of time has gone by. Sometimes its as if I were stuck in some sort extended time expansion where time continues without me while I am aware of the passage of day to day events the weeks, months and years seem to escape my notice. History has always held a certain amount of interest for me the past in an age of wonder. Wonder what actually happened. Mankind has a way of passing down what happened in an oral or written way. There are problems with this in that the oral has a way changing and in short order it’s no longer the way it happened at all. The written has similar faults in that there are different languages and people's translation again the history is changed. Or it somehow get destroyed and lost forever. Now we have a new medium in which to express ourselves, the World Wide Web. This is not without its disadvantages or short falls. I recently watched the movie WAR GAMES. In the movie control of the U.S. nuclear was given to a computer. For those who are not familiar with War Games its about a teenage youth who hacks into the NORAD computer via a backdoor and sets off a chain of events that leads the computer to start playing a simulated game of global nuclear war. This is our current drawback... if there were a nuclear event to happen who knows how much damage to our way of life our home such an event might cause. I wonder how many of my friends or complete will read what I post as I tend to ramble on and on... I have already gone off track as it is. I had plans to post some links to places I visit giving the reader a sense of what, who I am.
